This plastic construction makes the polySTRIKER ultra light. The core of the supplied cord is made of water resistant cotton tinder, this fiber rich material is easy to ignite with a flame or spark. The polySTRIKER is good for 1000 strikes. A firesteel performs even at extreme altitudes with oxygen poor air and it works just as well when wet.
