"Rock Gardens" print (1961) Size:24x36" Note how the berries progressI have no idea why the Ontario Department of Agriculture thought it needed to publish a booklet about rock gardens in 1961, but Im very happy they did. This beauty (I know I overuse that word, but there it is) uses five shades of brown to dance around the subject. Yes, theyre rocks, but those shadows dont make visual sense the artist (uncredited) was more concerned with impressions than realism. Three cheers for smart use of overprints. The authors
