A small antique table that already knows how to be lived with. Three wide planks make up the top, joined long ago and still holding, the seams visible like fault lines, the surface scored and scarred from decades of hands and cups and elbows. Deep knots freckle the wood, and the edge wears a softly weathered band where age has settled into the grain. Four straight, splayed legs, canted outward for a low
