The concept behind this design is to make a more compact tandem kayak that can allow one paddler to fish or take photos while the other maintains course. This kayak offers many features of a canoe, with larger cockpit space, but more stability than a canoe due to its draft being lower and the paddler position being lower. The Duet 16 is a 4 panel hull with a
